Flooded Futures – A Symposium about the Impacts of Climate Change on the Water Cycle

Organized by five master's students in biology at UGent, this event aims to raise awareness and promote discussion about the challenges and solutions related to water and climate.

Were you shocked by the flooding that happened in Belgium, 2021? Are you wondering if your house is situated in a flood-prone area? Are you curious about the impacts the changing climate is having on the water cycle and what can be done about this? Or are you just interested in which measures the city of Ghent is taking to avoid water nuisance? Come to our symposium and find out!

Guest Speakers:
Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts - climatejusticeforrosa.org
Klee Schamp – Project engineer in hydraulics at Arcadis Gent
Vincent Ogembo – Postdoctoral researcher in water and climate sciences
Filip Watteeuw – Schepen van Klimaat, Energie, Wonen en Milieu

! For the reception afterwards, we need an estimation of how many people will stay and drink something. To make this easier for us, please fill in this survey to let us know if you will (not) stay for the reception. https://nl.surveymonkey.com/r/WR9NGJG
