Council of Europe’s Steering Committee on the Environment (CDENV)

Climate Justice for Rosa has been granted observer status to the Council of Europe’s Steering Committee on the Environment (CDENV)

The CDENV brings together representatives of 46 member states to work on the relationship between environment and human rights, following commitments made at the Reykjavík Summit.

As an observer organisation, Climate Justice for Rosa will follow the committee’s work closely, attend its meetings in Strasbourg and online, and contribute to discussions where possible. This allows us to bring the perspective of young people, as well as the lived experiences of those directly impacted by the climate crisis, into a space where environmental standards and approaches are being shaped.

Our participation will focus in particular on intergenerational justice, the protection of children’s rights, and the need to strengthen accountability in environmental policy.

Through this role, we aim to ensure that the human impact of the climate crisis is not treated as an abstract issue, but remains central to the discussions.
