COP30: Youth-led Climate Forum - Mainstreaming Children, Youth, Gender And Indigenous Rights In The Climate Policies

Benjamin will be speaking at the 2025 Youth-led Climate Forum (YLCF) at COP30 in a high-impact session focusing on climate justice.

The session, titled "Climate Justice For All: Mainstreaming Children, Youth, Gender And Indigenous Rights In The Climate Policies," addresses the urgent truth that those who have contributed the least to the climate crisis often bear the greatest burdens. Meaningful inclusion and participation of affected communities are essential to achieving fair and effective solutions.

The goal is to move beyond dialogue and inspire actionable, inclusive policy recommendations that integrate the realities, leadership, and knowledge of children, women and girls, gender-diverse individuals, youth, and Indigenous Peoples into all areas of climate policy. The discussion will bring together youth leaders and negotiators, including high-level guests from Brazil, the UN, and various nations, promoting collaboration to strengthen equity in decision-making processes.

Ben (Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts, child climate advisor at CRIN) will deliver an opening statement, setting the scene and emphasizing why mainstreaming children’s rights, youth, gender, and Indigenous Peoples’ perspectives is vital for climate justice. We are ensuring that the needs and leadership of all affected communities are heard and reflected in the UNFCCC process.
